The aim of this dictionary is to give, in the light of present knowledge, definitions of terms that are of importance in electronics and related technological fields. The terms defined in this book include laws, relationships, equations, basic principles and concepts, as well as the most widely used instruments and apparatus. The fields covered include consumer electronics, optoelectronics, microelectronics, computers, communications, medical electronics, cell phone technology, wireless technology and much more. Further to serve the needs of the teacher, student and worker in the field of electronics, as well as in related fields, a considerable number of terms have been included from the subject-areas bordering on electronics. It is the hope of all who have worked on this book that it may contribute in some measure toward a widening of interest in the field of electronics and toward an extension of the range of its applications. Whether the Dictionary will continue to fulfill this hope depends in a large part on the willingness of our readers to criticize our work and to suggest additions and improvements.
